Launch of Lagos Legal Year 2015/2016

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday, reiterated his commitment to carry out legal reforms in the State, just as he assured that his administration will continue to lend support to the development, enthronement and quick dispensation of justice in the State.

The Governor, who spoke during a church service to commemorate the beginning of 2015/2016 Legal Year held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina on September 28, 2015, said the synergy of the Executive and the Judicial arm of government is key to the success of any administration, just as he assured of his continuous support for the legal profession.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the beginning of another legal year. Let me say that both the Executive and the Judiciary are partners in progress and I wish to restate my commitment to always support the Judiciary”, he said.
Earlier, the Diocesan Bishop of Lagos Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev Dr. Adebola Ademowo, acknowledged the Governor as the first Executive Governor to grace the programme commemorating the beginning of a new legal year since inception.
He referred to him as indefatigable, resolute, listening, God-fearing and people-oriented Governor urging him not to relent in his efforts to move the State forward.
He also prayed for peace in the State, expressing optimism that the State will witness development in the next four years.
Among those present at the service include the Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Funmilayo Atilade, eminent members of the Bar and Bench, among others.
Highlights of the event include prayers for Governor Ambode, the State, the Country and the Judiciary
